Zoe Restorative Care Home for Women | The Hideaway
The Hideaway: Women’s Restorative Care Home in Fredericksburg VA
Time to heal. Room to grow. Hope for a different future.
Sometimes a fresh start requires time away from the pressures, relationships, and patterns that keep us stuck. The Hideaway offers women struggling with addiction a life sabbatical—an opportunity to pause, receive support, and begin rebuilding their lives in a nurturing, structured home.
At Zoe Freedom Center, we see the woman behind the struggle: her story, her wounds, her strengths, and the dreams she may have stopped believing were possible. Our Christ-centered, trauma-informed approach brings together spiritual growth, compassionate relationships, practical skills, and access to professional care.
Caring for the heart
Freedom involves more than stopping substance use. It also means addressing the grief, shame, rejection, trauma, and broken relationships that can keep a woman feeling trapped.
Through discipleship, Bible study, prayer, mentoring, and daily life in community, women have opportunities to renew their minds in Christ, rediscover their worth, practice healthy boundaries, and build trust. We walk alongside each woman as she learns to receive love, take responsibility, and move toward the life God created her to live.
Professional care and practical support
Alongside the heart work, women receive support to understand addiction, develop coping skills, and build a foundation for lasting change. Services and coordinated supports include:
- Certified substance abuse counseling to address substance use, triggers, and relapse prevention.
- Peer recovery support from people who understand the journey firsthand.
- Case management and individualized planning to identify needs, set goals, and connect with resources.
- Connections to licensed mental health and medical providers based on each woman’s needs.
- Equine-assisted sessions that support trust, boundaries, communication, and emotional awareness.
- Life skills and daily responsibilities, including meal preparation, household care, healthy routines, and preparation for greater independence.
Structured support: VARR Level 3
The VARR Level 3 supervised recovery residence model combines a home environment with trained staff, accountability, structured recovery programming, and life skills development. Clinical counseling and other professional services complement the support provided in the home.
Moving toward lasting freedom
Our mission comes to life through renewing minds in Christ, building healthy relationships, developing dreams, and serving others. Each step helps women prepare for life beyond the program—with stronger relationships, practical tools, renewed purpose, and a community of support.
